Martingale Collars
Martingale collars – also known as no slip collars, half choke collars, and sighthound collars – are designed to provide gentle control on leash. The control loop tightens slightly when the dog pulls, helping prevent escape, then relaxes when tension is released. This limited tightening action makes martingales a safer alternative to full choke collars and slip leads.
Unlike choke collars, a martingale dog training collar does not continuously constrict. The design helps improve leash communication while avoiding excessive pressure on the neck, making it a safer, more controlled option for everyday walks and training sessions. Martingale collars are especially recommended for dogs with narrow heads such as Greyhounds, Whippets, and other sighthounds.
