Measuring your dog
When measuring your dog for a martingale collar, keep in mind that the collar will need to be able to slip over your dog’s head, since it doesn’t have a buckle.
First, measure the widest part of your dog’s head. Next, measure your dog’s neck as you would for a standard, buckle-style collar. Use the larger of the two measurements.

I purchased this collar in a burgundy for showing my red tri Australian Shephed in AKC Rally. It is an absolutely beautifully made collar, fine leather, gorgeous rich color, beautiful stitching, and perfect fit (sized as per instructions). I love it! I bought a flat leash in burgundy to go with it because I somehow missed that there is a matching rolled leather leash! Darn…well, that matching rolled leash is going on my Christmas list!!! If hubby doesn’t get it for me, I will buy it myself…my girl wants to look her best in the show ring after all! Really impressed with the quality and finish of Auburn Leathercraters products!

Our rolled leather collars were one of the first collars we introduced in 1950. The rolled martingale was a natural addition. Our rolled leather leashes are a wonderful match to either and make a perfect matched set.
One important consideration when choosing a leash for any of our collars is the size of the leash in comparison to the size of the collar. It is important to note that the snap on smaller leashes is proportionate to the width of the leash, and that smaller snaps might not fit on the dee-ring of a larger collar.
